Kamil Grosicki doubled his goal-scoring tally for the season with his double against Bolton
Kamil Grosicki scored twice as Hull City thrashed Championship strugglers Bolton to extend their winning run to five games.
Polish international Grosicki needed two attempts to put the hosts ahead in the first half, firing through a crowd and into the top of the net after his initial effort was blocked.
Clayton Donaldson squandered the Trotters' best chance to level before the break, firing wide from 12 yards after good work from Sammy Ameobi and Jonathan Grounds.
Grosicki went on to create one and score another in the space of two second-half minutes, first setting up Evando with a low cross before making it 3-0 with a neat finish from the edge of the area.
Chris Martin slotted Hull's fourth home from inside the area before Jarrod Bowen added a fifth and Nouha Dicko made it six against a Bolton side that have slipped back into the relegation places.
Nigel Adkins' resurgent Tigers, who have now collected 20 points from a possible 24 since 27 November, moved to 13th in the table.
Bolton, a side that has failed to win in 11 away games dating back to August, dropped to 22nd with Rotherham leapfrogging them after beating Preston 2-1.
An audacious early overhead attempt by Donaldson and costly miss by the forward later in the first half were two rare attacking moments for Bolton on a miserable day for Phil Parkinson's men.
Martin and Bowen both threatened before Grosicki opened the scoring with a messy effort.
After the break, however, they were far more slick, with Grosicki triggering the avalanche of goals - teeing up Evando before then curling home his second of the day.
Martin was next to add to Bolton's woes, and was denied a brace of his own by the crossbar, only for the highly-rated Bowen to then get his 11th goal of the season and Dicko to come off the bench to complete a resounding triumph.
Hull assistant head coach Andy Crosby: "If anyone's talking about the play-offs they'd probably have the manager all over them.
"Who knows what the future holds. We didn't get too down when we were down at the bottom of the table. Slowly but surely, things have turned.
"We've got to keep pushing. We've got good players who are playing with belief. We are looking up now. Can we keep progressing and go higher up the league? In the last half an hour you saw a team playing with confidence.
"The club has perhaps been on a downward spiral for a few years, but hopefully we've turned a corner and hopefully we can continue to ride this wave and progress up the table."
Bolton manager Phil Parkinson: "We were in the game in the first half.
"But we got really exposed by a team that is full of confidence and have some outstanding attack players.
"We haven't really been turned over like that (his season and I've got to take responsibility for that as I opened the team up at half-time.
"We made some strange decisions at 3-0 and 4-0 down but they were very clinical when the chances came - and that was the difference. We looked like a team that ran out of legs."
