FA Cup: Walsall 1-1 Sunderland highlights

Andy Cook's ninth goal of the season earned Walsall an FA Cup second-round replay at the Stadium of Light as they drew with Sunderland.

Cook's fine first-time strike cancelled out Aiden McGeady's first-half opener for Sunderland, who extended their unbeaten run to 15 games in all competitions.

Walsall goalkeeper Liam Roberts saved well when Josh Maja's boot diverted a 20-yard shot from Bryan Oviedo after 20 minutes.

But the Black Cats went ahead as an unmarked McGeady tucked home Oviedo's low ball across the six-yard box.

Walsall levelled when Nicky Devlin's low cross picked out Cook to lash into the bottom corner from 15 yards.

Roberts thwarted McGeady's 25-yard strike before Morgan Ferrier raced clear at the other end but saw his shot saved by the foot of Sunderland goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin.

Cook had two chances to win the all-League One tie but his looping header from Isaiah Osbourne's cross hit the crossbar in the 64th minute and he bulleted a close-range header straight at McLaughlin late on.
