FA Cup: Alfreton Town 1-4 Fleetwood Town highlights

Paddy Madden scored twice as Fleetwood Town reached the FA Cup second round with victory at non-league Alfreton.

A hooked volley from Madden put the visitors ahead, before Ashley Hunter broke free down the left-hand side to slot Fleetwood's second past Sam Ramsbottom.

Madden scored his second from the spot before Alfreton's Jordan Sinnott, who had a shot cleared off the line in the first half, netted a consolation free-kick.

Gerard Garner's glancing header made the game safe for the League One visitors.

It was a special moment for the youngster who came on as a second-half substitute to score in only his second game, after making his debut in last month's EFL Trophy defeat by Rochdale.

Alfreton, who are 16th in National League North, piled on the pressure in the closing stages as Nathan Hotte saw his shot blocked, while Callum Chettle fired wide and forced a point-blank save from Alex Cairns.
