Joe Parkinson: Bury FC appoint former Wigan Athletic coach as assistant manager

League One side Bury have appointed former Wigan coach Joe Parkinson as assistant to new boss Chris Lucketti.

Former Wigan and Everton midfielder Parkinson, 46, started his coaching career with the Latics in 2012, before leaving the club in November 2016.

Lucketti was appointed Shakers boss on 22 November, having previously been assistant manager at Scunthorpe.

"He's a great character to be around, and I know the lads will thoroughly enjoy working with him," Lucketti said., external
