Ellen White scored one goal and created another to help Birmingham City beat Everton for their first Women's Super League One win of the season.
White swept the opener home from close range after keeper Lizzie Durack failed to clear a Paige Williams corner.
England striker White then laid the ball off for Charlie Wellings to slot home the hosts' second.
Everton's Chloe Kelly beat substitute keeper Frances Stenson after the break, but they could not find an equaliser.
While the first thing Steenson had to do on her WSL 1 debut was pick the ball out of the back of the net, she was equal to a number of Everton chances after that.
Courtney Sweetman-Kirk had the visitors' best opportunity, but failed to get enough power on her shot to truly trouble the teenager, who replaced the injured Ann-Katrin Berger in goal at half-time.
Everton remain without a point after two games on their return to England's top-flight women's competition.
