Barnet striker John Akinde has signed a new three-year contract with the League Two club.

The 27-year-old former Bristol City, Crawley and Portsmouth forward scored 24 goals in 48 appearances for the north London side last season.

"He has been a key player and has a vast amount where he can improve his game," manager Martin Allen said.

"It is a massive scoop for us and shows how far the club has come. The chairman deserves credit."
