Deon Burton: Scunthorpe United release veteran striker

Scunthorpe United striker Deon Burton has left the club after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.

The 38-year-old joined the Iron in June 2013 and helped the team to promotion from League Two last season.

He signed a new one-year deal in the summer but featured just five times before joining York City on loan.

The former Jamaica international suffered a knee injury in his second game with the Minstermen and has not played competitively since 8 November.
