Transfer deadline day: Wycombe extend Alfie Mawson loan

Wycombe have extended the loan deal of Brentford centre-back Alfie Mawson until 1 January.

The 20-year-old defender joined the Chairboys on the opening day of the season and has featured in all six games of the campaign so far.

His loan was due to end after Saturday's League Two game with Bury.

"Alfie has been outstanding for us, particularly for someone so young who had only played a handful of senior games," said boss Gareth Ainsworth.

Mawson, who has played once for the Bees, told the Wycombe website:, external "I've really enjoyed my time here so far - it's been a great experience and I've learned a lot on and off the pitch."
