Conference side Chester have signed former Stoke City defender Ben Heneghan ahead of Saturday's game at Braintree.

The 20-year-old former Everton youngster, who left the Potters at the end of last season, is yet to make an appearance in senior football.

Steve Burr's Chester have made a poor start to the Conference season, losing their opening two matches.

A 5-0 home defeat by Barnet on Saturday was followed by a 2-1 loss at Forest Green in midweek.

Heneghan is the 10th summer signing made by City boss Steve Burr.
