The opening day of the Division Two County Championship match between Derbyshire and Northants at Queen's Park, Chesterfield was abandoned because of a wet outfield.

Umpires Ian Blackwell and Neil Mallender were concerned about damp patches on the bowlers' run ups and called play off at 12:30 BST.

Sunday's T20 Blast match between the two sides was also abandoned.

Derbyshire and Northants are both yet to win in the Championship this season.
