Nottinghamshire's hopes of a fifth successive Championship win were hit by a washout on the opening day against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
Despite their run of form, Notts are still 24 points behind Middlesex in the race to finish second behind Yorkshire.
Notts are likely to include Alex Hales and James Taylor following England's one-day series against Australia.
Warwickshire, however, will not be able to use Ian Bell until their final game of the season away at Somerset.
