Brentford manager Thomas Frank expects centre-back Nathan Collins to recover quickly from his performance in Wednesday's 4-1 Premier League defeat by Wolves.

Facing his former club for the first time since leaving Wolves for Brentford in July, the Republic of Ireland defender twice gave away possession in the lead-up to goals for the visitors and also headed over from a presentable chance to score in the first half.

Frank said: "I told him it will never be worse than this, with a smile on my face. He's been a very positive player for us this season, he's performed very well for us. It happens.

"Tonight he will be down but tomorrow it's a fact that the sun will rise again. I expect him to walk into training with his head held high."

Brentford have lost six of their past seven matches and they are 14th in the table, four points above the relegation zone.

"This is a good club, a good team and we have character in abundance and we'll go again," Frank added.

"A big thing is to stay calm and believe in the work we do and the processes. That's what we've done in the past and that will get us out of this minor run of poor results."
