Derry ended a barren 18 months with a 1-15 to 1-12 victory over Tyrone at Celtic Park to get their first win of their Division Two campaign.
In a hard-fought derby clash, the Oak Leafers had enough down the stretch to claim victory as Tyrone's promotion hopes already look in jeapordy.
In Division One, Galway snatched a late 3-12 to 0-20 victory over Armagh at the Athletic Grounds thanks to Rob Finnerty's free.
Down enjoyed an opposite outcome as Shane Annett's last-gasp score saw them make it two wins from two in Division Three, beating Limerick 0-18 to 1-14.
Oak Leafers grab first league win since 2024
Highlights: Derry 1-15 Tyrone 1-12
At Celtic Park, Derry found the answers to claim a first victory on either league or championship since 2024.
They made the better start with scores from Conor Doherty and Lachlan Murray and while Mattie Donnelly opened Tyone's account, Derry had a great goal chance straight after as Murray squared for fellow late replacement Matthew Downey but he couldn't rise high enough as his palmed effort went over.
The sides traded with Ethan Jordan on the money from paced balls for Tyrone, while Murray and the influential Conor Glass found their range.
Tyrone enjoyed a nice spell as they began to get a grip around the middle and a two-pointer from Conor O'Neill gave them the lead for the first time, but after an exchange of point, Derry got the goal they had threatened as Glass won a kick-out and burst forward, sending an unstoppable shot past Niall Morgan.
However, Tyrone responded in kind minutes later as from a free out on the right, Jordan spotted Ciaran Daly inside and the wing-forward shot in off the underside of the crossbar, giving his side a 1-8 to 1-7 lead at the break with Derry losing Murray to a black card just before the short whistle.

The second period didn't reach the same heights but was nonetheless gripping as after Shane McGuigan levelled fro a free, Tyrone's Michael McKernan thumped over a two-pointer.
Again, the hosts got level and after Eoin McElholm edged Tyrone back in fronty, Rogers thumped over Derry's only two-pointer of the game.
Jordan's fourth point of the game tied it with 15 to go, but it proved to be Tyrone's final score as their accuracy deserted them and Derry made more of their opportunities with McGuigan landing points either side of one from COnor McAteer.
Tyrone meeded a goal to salvage somehting from the game, but Padraig McGrogan snuffed out Matthew Og McGleenan as Derry claimed a huge win.
Finnerty the Galway hero in Armagh

Matthew Tierney celebrates scoring Galway's third goal
Rob Finnerty's free at the death snatched a one-point win for Galway over Armagh to make up for their opening loss to Mayo.
Armagh racked up an impressive 1-27 scoreline on the opening weekend last time out against Monaghan, and they made a quick start again.
Ross McQuillan, Conor Turbitt, Fergal O'Brien and Oisin Conaty all pointed to give Kieran McGeeney's side an early lead, but Fionn McDonagh split the posts at the other end and Kieran Molloy followed up with a goal to put the visitors in front.
McQuillan scored another while Oisin O'Neill kicked over either side of a Finnian O Laoi point for Galway to keep Armagh in the lead.
Ciaran Mulhern was black carded for the Tribesmen and Armagh took full advantage, working up a 0-10 to 1-3 lead.
Then the momentum shifted. Finnerty attempted a two-pointer for an Armagh breach, and his kick ended up in the net.
Fionn McDonagh's attempt to flick the ball seemingly did enough to put Orchard goalkeeper Blaine Hughes off and the ball went in through his legs.
Kieran McGeeney's side trailed 2-5 to 0-10 at the break but wrestled back the initiative at the start of the second period scoring four points unanswered.
The script flipped once more with Galway then rattling off four scores in succession. Shane Walsh marked his return with a point to open a 2-10 to 0-14 advantage.
Jarly Og Burns fisted over in response for Armagh and O'Neill's free from outside the arc - the only two-pointer of the game - gave the Orchard County the lead coming down the stretch.
Tiernan Kelly and Jason Duffy tagged on points, but the Tribe replied once again as Matthew Tierney blasted to the net to put Galway back in front.
O'Neill brought Armagh back level, but Finnerty's last-gasp free - brought forward 50 metres - stole the victory for the away side after a ding-dong battle.
Annett to the rescue for the Mournemen

Shane Annett scored Down's winner
Meanwhile, Conor Laverty's Down left it late to make it back-to-back wins to start their Division Three campaign.
A 74th-minute point from Shane Annett ensured a 0-18 to 1-14 win against Limerick in Rathkeale.
The Mournemen led 0-9 to 0-6 at half-time, notching six points without reply at one stage during the first period.
Ceilum Doherty grabbed a couple alongside Odhran Murdock and Ryan McEvoy after Pat Havern landed a two-point free.
Down managed to keep Limerick at arm's length for much of the second half, but a goal from Danny Neville nine minutes from time reduced the lead to just a single point.
Daniel Guinnes and Eliah Riordan exchanged two-pointers before James Naughton brought the sides level at the start of added time.
Limerick had their own chances to take the spoils, but Annett stepped up to maintain Down's perfect start.
In hurling's Division Three, Tyrone bounced back from their opening defeat to claim a 2-18 to 0-16 win away to Louth, while Donegal were big winners at home to Fermanagh, running out 2-35 to 0-9 victors.
In Division Four, Monaghan enjoyed a 1-23 to 2-16 win over Lancashire in Abbottstown, but Cavan were narrowly beaten 1-14 to 1-12 away to Longford.
