Derby County give Hartlepool United FA Cup gate receipt boost

  • Published

Derby County have given hosts Hartlepool United their share of the gate receipts, about £23,000, from Saturday's FA Cup tie at Victoria Park.

Pools were beaten 2-1 by the Championship promotion hopefuls, despite an impressive strike by on-loan Crystal Palace winger Jake Gray.

Goals from Jacob Butterfield and Darren Bent saw the Rams through to the fourth round before a crowd of 4,860.

Under FA Cup rules, clubs receive 45% of receipts each from the tie.

The remaining 10% is placed in the 'pool', a fund held by the Football Association and divided by the Premier League and Football League at the end of the season for further distribution.
