Hull City's Abel Hernandez has been banned for three games for punching Manchester United defender Phil Jones.

The incident occurred in the 70th minute of the 0-0 draw with United in the final game of the Premier League season which, coupled with a win for Newcastle, confirmed Hull's relegation.

The forward admitted an act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.

Hernandez will miss the first three Championship games of next season.

The Uruguayan joined Hull for a club-record £10m from Palermo last September.

He made 24 appearances in his first Premier League season, scoring four goals.
