Cambridge United 1-2 Tranmere Rovers

  • Published

Tranmere moved out of the League Two relegation zone as they ended a five-game losing streak at Cambridge, despite being reduced to 10 men.

Max Power gave Rovers the lead in first-half stoppage time as he fired in from the edge of the box.

Substitute Sullay Kaikai equalised as he finished well after a jinking run through the Tranmere defence.

But Danny Gardner secured the win soon after before Tranmere skipper Steve Jennings received a second yellow card.

The win, which was just Rovers' third away from home all season, moves them above second-from-bottom Cheltenham on goal difference while Cambridge drop to 18th place.
