Massachusetts-born Packwood joined the Birmingham academy as a 14-year-old
Birmingham City defender Will Packwood has signed a new one-year contract, with the option of a further year.
The 21-year-old former USA Under-20 international came through the Blues' youth system and made 13 appearances for the Championship side last season.
He also played eight times in a loan spell at Bristol Rovers.
The full-back missed most of the 2012-13 season with a broken leg after a collision with Leeds striker Luciano Becchio in an FA Cup third-round tie.
