Blackburn striker Benjani claims he will return to the club next season after being offered a new contract.

The 32-year-old scored only three Premier League goals for Rovers last season and his contract has expired.

But the former Zimbabwe international revealed he has been offered a new 12-month deal by Rovers boss Steve Kean.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph, external: "Yes, I will be back at Blackburn again next season."

"I think the deal will be finalised in the next few days and then I can look forward to doing my best with the club," he added.

"I don't know if there were other clubs who wanted me because I always wanted to come back to Blackburn. I hope that will be sorted now."
