| | The world renowned theatre company is bringing its unique mobile auditorium with two brand new classic productions to Portsmouth. |
 | | | Although based in Stratford-upon-Avon, the RSC regularly performs overseas and throughout the UK bringing their work to towns and cities in their 500 seat mobile theatre.
This spring, they hit the road once again with two productions, Shakespeare's political thriller, Julius Caesar and the sparkling, hard-edged comedy The Two Gentlemen of Verona.
Julius Caesar is a fast-paced dramatic play based on actual historic events - Caesar's tyrannical rule of Rome which divides the city, the Senators and his friends.

His assassination sends the people into warring factions as the city descends into bloody civil chaos. This version has an industrial edge and is set against the state politics of contemporary Eastern Europe. The Two Gentlemen of Verona is a romantic comedy which sees Valentine and Proteus' life long friendship tested to the limit as one betrays the other in matters of love, honesty and integrity.
This version of one of Shakespeare's earliest known works is set in the 1930's inspired by the jazz clubs, skyscrapers and Art Deco fashion typified by the Chicago and New York societies of the time.
Performed by one ensemble company, matinee and evening performances will take place over the four day visit as part of the company's UK tour.
