Darren Way: on loan until January 1

The Way forward for Yeovil Town?

Glovers legend Darren Way talks to BBC Somerset about his return to Yeovil. He's on loan from Swansea City until 1 January. Injury problems have meant he's only made 17 appearances for the Welsh club, so he's looking forward to being back in action.

"To be honest I'm pleased to be back," said the 27 year-old. "Sometimes people say don't go back to your old club but I'm just focusing on playing for Yeovil for the month and concentrating on winning games."

Way spent six seasons at Huish Park before signing for Swansea for £150,000, and is looking forward to linking up again with his old team-mates Nathan Jones, Scott Guyett and captain Terry Skiverton.

"A few bad results it seems everyone's a little bit downhearted and they don't need to be."

The Plymouth-born midfielder has been keeping tabs on his former colleagues - even going to the League One Play-off Final at Wembley to support the Glovers.

"When you've played for a club for such a long time it means a lot to you. When a club that you've played for has come on leaps and bounds and then gets to the play-off final at Wembley... it was a great day and it was a great day for me and it was nice to be there as a fan."

No hestitation

There were one or two other clubs interested in signing Way on loan but his links with the Somerset club mean that he had no hesitation in picking Yeovil.

And he wasted no time in appealing to the Glovers faithful to help pick the team up after their FA Cup exit at Torquay.

"Look how many time Yeovil have done that to other clubs - these things happen in football," he said. "But I think the club has progressed so far since I've come back, I don't know, it's a strange feeling.

"A few bad results it seems everyone's a little bit downhearted and they don't need to be, because there's still a long way to go in the season and one or two wins changes the whole picture again. So I still expect everyone to be smiling."
