"So, what we'll probably look to apply for is something along the lines of Michael [Eavis] having the festival for four years, and then having a fallow year." The formal licence application, which is usually made on an annual basis, is expected to be submitted to Mendip District Council towards the end of January 2007. "We're hoping to get a few more people in this year - we're trying to go up to 137,500 tickets," Michael Eavis told BBC Somerset Sound's Steve Haigh. Subject to licence approval, Glastonbury Festival 2007 will take place from 22 to 24 June, with tickets due to go on sale at 9am on 1 April at a cost of £145 plus £5 administration fee. In a bid to combat touting, festival-goers will need to register before buying tickets. Anyone wanting to go to 2007's event will first have to supply their contact details and a standard passport photo between 1 and 28 February. Each ticket sold will feature the photo of the person in whose name it is registered and will be non-exchangeable.
