Evanfly at Glastonbury 2005

Weston-super-Mare's Evanfly at Glasto 2005

Fresh from playing in front of thousands at T4 on the Beach just a week earlier, Weston-super-Mare's Evanfly took to the stage at Glastonbury 2005.

Despite the incredibly bad weather conditions and mud that followed, Evanfly managed to perform to a packed audience inside the Glastonbury Interactive Tent in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The band played a special 30-minute acoustic set, with four guitars and light percussion.

They performed a variety of numbers from their three current albums, and included a guest female vocalist on one song.

Lead singer Steve Fowell said: "Never have I played to an audience so focused and hanging on our every word.

"It was very humbling, especially as it was a music-loving crowd who had never even heard of us, let alone seen us before."

Evanfly played an encore at the end of their set. In addition, the tent organisers also invited Evanfly to return and play again that weekend, however due to restricted time schedules they couldn't oblige.

You can read and listen to an interview with Evanfly by clicking on the link at the top of this page.

You can also find out how they got on at T4 on the Beach in Weston-super-Mare - again, the link's at the top of this page.

Evanfly have been a must see for a long time and I expect them to make it big real soon.

matt
fair play lads. keep flying the Somerset flag eh?

Mikey
My mate's right. Grumbleweeds and Oasis. The guitars were cool and looked expensive. The ties made it a bit different.

Pop person
There's more original material in Somerset than Evanfly spanning various music forms. The drummer and lead guitarist are strong musicians for what they do. It seems a bit hyped though. In the back row you might mistake them for Oasis before they play, so visually they're dead ringers for an Oasis covers band, somewhere between Oasis and The Grumbleweeds, so an nteresting mix of style.
