| Tracking four new riders for the 2005 season, the opening Premier Trophy meeting at Rye House was always going to be a tough proposition, but the team rose to the occasion. Superbly led by skipper Magnus Zetterstrom and Paul Fry, the Rebels gave a good account of themselves to bring a mere seven point deficit back to the Oak Tree Arena and an excellent opportunity of taking the bonus point when the teams meet for the return match at the end of April. Although falling 10 points behind with just three heats remaining, Somerset's Zetterstrom showed his class in winning heat 13, scoring double points as a tactical ride, beating the previously undefeated Rye duo of Stuart Robson and Brent Werner. Proving this victory was no fluke, 'Zorro' repeated the victory over Robson and Werner two races later, typifying Somerset's spirited all-round team performance on the night. | | | last updated: 18/04/05 | | Have Your Say What did you think of the Rebels' performance? | | | | SEE ALSO
