How, and why, did you get started?

I have been brought up around live music all my life. With hippy parents it sort of comes with the territory. My Dad is an accomplished musician anyways, so when I asked him to teach me how to play the guitar, he was glad to do so.

A few years passed and I found the rave movement in the mid-90s. I became hooked on the banging beats and exaggerated bass, so I took up the mission of collecting the records from my local record shop, which led me to invest in a set of decks of my own.

I proceeded to learn how to mix these records, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Where do you DJ locally?

I have had many residences over the years. GBH, Absolute and Bionic hold some of the best memories.

What's your style?

After a spell dabbling in hard trance and hard dance, I realised I couldn't leave my first love of hardcore and old skool.

What do you listen to when you're not DJ-ing?

My music spans the whole musical spectrum, from Jimmy Hendrix through to Travis. To be honest, I'm a musical pervert.

Who's your fave DJ?

Many DJs have influenced the way I play, but the few that stick out are probably Sy for scratching, Brisk for mixing, and probably Hixxy for tune selection.

But that's just the hardcore. There are many DJs that float my boat outside of the hardcore scene like Yoda, Atomic Hooligan and many others.

My last word on it is, if you don't let yourself enjoy a style of music, all you are doing is denying yourself pleasure.

Where would you most like to play?

I think most hardcore DJs want to play at Masters of Hardcore in Holland. UK-wise, I think the main dance stage at Glastonbury is a good target, and Slammin' and HTID are major raves I would love to play.

Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself:

I work in a record shop in Weston-super-Mare and I used to have really long hair. To top it off, I used to be in the carnival concerts in Bridgwater as the only male dancer in the group... lol.
