The group are being billed as the next big thing following their string of excellent performances this year - including an outstanding set at the Ashton Court Festival last month. Weston Wheels is set to be the bands biggest home town gig so far. The band has gained a massive following playing in venues around the town - and beyond. Among the other acts taking to the stage are Dreddy & the Hotsteppers from Birmingham and up-and-coming Welsh girl trio Pheena. There will also be a few DJ sets during the day. Event organiser Tristan Bacon said: "We are delighted to be bringing this amazing array of pop talent to this year's Weston Wheels. "We talked about maybe having a few bands play and the feedback we got from artists was fantastic and lots of great acts wanted to perform on our stage. "Pop music and cars go hand in hand and have done for as long as there has been pop music. "So it seems natural to have pop acts perform at an event which is all about the world of modified motors." The promoters say they're working closely with Avon and Somerset Police, North Somerset Council and other groups to ensure the event is correctly organised. >>> Weston Wheels takes place from 2pm on 24 August at the former airfield near Weston-super-Mare - head for junction 21 of the M5 and follow the signs The BBC is not responsible for the content of external websites. |
