SLC hard disc theft 'inside job'
The theft of two hard discs belonging to Sri Lanka Cricket was an inside job says the cricket officials.

Documents pertaining to the World Cup 2011, including some audit documents were among the material in the hard disks found to be missing on Monday, Suraj Dandeniya the tournament Director of World Cup 2011 told BBC Sandeshaya.

"There is no way an outsider could break in to the office. This is without a doubt is an inside job," says Dandeniya.

Under investigation

Meanwhile, Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) Chairman, Senior Minister D.E.W. Gunasekara had told local media, that the mysterious theft of computer hard discs has taken place at a time when the COPE has summoned the SLC for an investigation.

The SLC must appear before the COPE in the first week of July to answer allegations of misappropriation of funds raised by the Auditor General. The COPE has also instructed the AG to submit all available documents of the SLC for further investigations," Minister Gunasekara had told the Daily Mirror.

"There is no mystery as we have all the information in back up copies," Dandeniya told the BBC.
