LTTE suspects to be rehabilitated
Justice
The Colombo Magistrate Court has ordered to rehabilitate sixty seven LTTE suspects who are in the custody of Terrorist Investigation Department (TDI).

The suspects who were held in the Boossa Detention Centre were produced before the Colombo Magistrate Court

TDI told the court that though they had been forcibly recruited to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) investigations have confirmed that they were not hardcore terrorists.

TDI further said that the Attorney General has instructed them to direct the suspects for rehabilitation.

The court ordered TDI to release them to the Welikanda Rehabilitation Centre for a period of one year.

During the war in the Wanni area the suspects had arrived into government controlled area in Vavuniya. They were later arrested by the Terrorist Investigation Department.
