It was attended by PLOT leader, Dharmalingam Sidharthan, EPRLF leader, T.Sritharan and Western People’s Front leader, (WPF) Mano Ganeshan.

WPF leader, Mano Ganeshan told Sandesaya that they discussed the formation of a common ground to take forward the issues concerning minorities.

He said Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) leader, Ananda Sangari is also among the minority parties that anticipate forming an alliance in the future.

Common Statement

Mano Ganeshan said that TULF leader, Ananda Sangaree has already joined with Tamil and Muslim leaders in Sri Lanka to issue a common statement regarding the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP).

In the statement Tamil and Muslim leaders in Sri Lanka have joined together to call the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in northern Sri Lanka illegal.

Five minority political parties representing the two main minority communities urged the government that the IDPs "should be released immediately to return to their homes".
