Judiciary in confidence building
Civil courts are to be established in the recently liberated Killinochchi and Mullativu districts.

The Deputy Minister of Justice, B.Putrasigamani told Sandeshaya that a decision has been taken to set up courts before resettlements take place in those areas.

A high court and a magistrate court will be established in Killinochchi while Mullaitivu will have a magistrate court, he said.

Answering to a question, he said that Vanni people went to LTTE courts when they were under rebel rule and now they will have to come to these courts for their needs.

“This way we will be able to build up confidence in them”, Deputy Minister Puttrasigamani said.

At present cases related to these areas are being heard in Vavuniya courts.
