The JVP will lose a seat in parliament as one of its MP's is to resign after admitting wrong doing. The JVP says that it will accept Kgalle district parliamentarian Anuurudda Polgampala’s resignation as party investigations have found out that there is a possibility of him being involved in human trafficking. Speaking to Sandeshaya Central Committee member Vijitha Hearth confirmed that once Polgammpola resigns his vacancy would be filled by the candidate ranked next in the preferential list. The next MP in line is from the ruling United Peoples Freedom Alliance which was part of the alliance which with the JVP contested elections in 2004. VIjitha Hearth confrmed that Polgammpala had travelled to Japan without the knowledge of the party. “The investigations have revealed that there was a possibility of the other person who travelled with him is staying back in Japan’’ said Hearth Responding to a question Hearth said that there was no evidence that the parliamentarian Polgammpala has been involved in human trafficking prior to this incident. “As Polgammpala has admitted wrong doing he will not be sacked from the party” said Hearth | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
