The Sri Lanka Army says after heavy fighting with LTTE terrorists they captured the village of Parappakadanthan, Mannar on Saturday. The village is situated North of Giants tank is a developed area consisting of many buildings and a large terrorist training complex, the army said. The Sri Lanka military said on Friday that it had captured a strategically important LTTE base in the north. Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara told BBC Sandeshaya that 25 bodies of LTTE members recovered after the operation in Chiraddikulama, Vavuniya were handed over to the ICRC.
