Three policemen were killed in a bomb blast in Aithyamale, Batticaloa, police said. The attack has occurred while the policemen were taking bath in a nearby stream after the shift. Another policeman has sustained injuries in the attack. Police spokesman, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ranjith Gunasekara told BBC Sandeshaya that it is suspected that a time bomb has exploded while they were taking bath. 12 policemen killed 12 policemen were killed in Batticaloa after the completion of the Eastern Provincial Council Elections (EPC). A police constable and a junior officer of Special Task Force (STF) were killed in a claymore explosion at Kaludawala in the Kaluwanchikudi police division on Sunday.
