Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) accuses the government of selling out the East to India.

Addressing a press conference in Colombo JVP parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanyaka said that the government has already given land in the east to the Indian government and is working towards setting up a pro Indian administration in the Eastern province.

“While the displaced of Sampur are still in refuge camps the government has given more than two thousand acres of land to India” said Dissanayaka.

He also said that the government has further provided land to the Indians in the Nilavali area as well as the oil tanks in Trincomalee.

“The Indians now need a political leadership that would help them to profit from these assets” said parliamentarian Dissanayaka.

He said that the government agenda is to bring the TMVP in to power and fulfil the desire of the Indians.

The government of Sri Lanka has already signed a memorandum of understanding with India in order to build a coal fired power plant.

Dissanayaka also warned that if the UNP – Muslim congress alliance was voted in to power in the up coming provincial council elections it would pave the way for the LTTE to make its return to the east.

“Rauff Hakeem is the one who signed an agreement with Prabakaran” said Anura Kumara Dissanayaka
