The police found the two bodies in a chena in the jungle.

Sri Lanka Army Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said that security has been strengthened and search operation launched.

He said that 350 additional police personnel have been attached to the Tissamaharamaya area.

In addition, Two hundred Civil Defense Force personnel have been deployed, Brigdier Nanayakkara said.

Police posts have been established in Nimalawa, Babuwa, Uddagandhara, Koragahaulpotha, Ruwanwewa, Ranminithenna and Palatupanamurapola.

Journalist attacked

Sirasa cameraman Varuna Sampath was attacked when he went to Galara on Thursday to report the recovery of the bodies.

Varuna Sampath told Sandesaya that the villagers were provoked when they were told by the OIC of the Tissamaharamaya Police that the bodies will not be released as long as the journalists presence was there.

Earlier Cameraman Sampath was asked by the police not to video the scene of the area and was told that there may be mines in the area.

He says that there were people gathered in the same location. He told the police that he would not obstruct duties of police but would carry on with recording.

"This time OIC told the son of a dead person that they will not release the body of his father until the cameraman (Sampath) is gone from the location", Sampath said.

"The son of the dead person got angry and he threatened me and villagers began to hit me".

However, the police did not intervene to stop the beating but later escorted him away from the violent villagers, Sampth said.
