Clashes in the North and East
Two EPDP (Eelam Peoples' Democratic Party) members were shot dead at in the Eravur police division in Batticaloa.

They were gunned down by LTTE pistol men on Thursday around 12.30 p.m. at Iyankerni, Eravur, Sri Lankan military said.

The LTTE assassins disguised as civilians who came on a motorbike opened fire at the two victims while they were in a wayside shop and fled the area,SL Army added.

Ten Tamil tigers killed

The Sri Lankan military says at least ten Tamil Tigers were killed in separate clashes in the northern part of the country on Wednesday.

It says seven rebels died when they tried to infiltrate across the army's northern defence line in Jaffna.

Three others were killed in mortar and artillery exchanges in the Vavuniya district.

Aerial bombing

Sri Lankan Air Force fighter jets attacked Mullaithivu civilian settlements, on Wednesay night, LTTE said on Thursday.

Two Sri Lankan Air Force fighter jets dropped eight bombs over the civilian settlements at 10.45pm, LTTE added.
