Hong Kong Six squad named
Hong Kong
Annual tournament is organised by Hong Kong Cricket Association
Sri Lanka cricket selectors have named the squad for the forthcoming Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes (HKICS) tournament.

Indika de Saram is named as the skipper and Jeevantha Kulatunga as his deputy for the 27-28 October tournament.

Anil Ridheegamanagedera, Sri Lanka's Best Player and the Best Bowler of the year 2007, is also named for the first time to represent Sri Lanka.

He was highly critical of the cricket authorities for not selecting him for the training pools for the Twenty20 tournament or Cricket World Cup despite being named as the Best Player.

Best Player of the year

"Some players were called into the squad despite not playing domestic cricket for months," he told BBC Sandeshaya before the SLC announcement.

"And the Best Player of the year was not selected for a 70-member pool," Ridheegammanagedara, 30, who travels to UK every summer to play for junior counties said.

Sri Lanka's Chief Selector, Asantha de Mel, told BBCSinhala.com that the player would be given an opportunity 'in due course'.

The HKICS tournament is an annual event organised by the Hong Kong Cricket Association.
