Minister Perera and President's senior advisor, Basil Rajapakse, declared open a series of new communal facilities in Trincomalee. Basil Rajapakse, younger brother of President Mahinda Rajapakse, told the inaugural meeting of "Rising of the East" that the international community has been pouring aid to redevelop the region. Giant projects are being established with the financial help of EU, United State, ADB, France and Spain, he added.
