Two more businessmen have been abducted in Colombo.

Two Muslim businessmen were abducted on Friday evening while a high level meeting presided by President Mahinda Rajapaksha was held at the Temple Trees to discuss recent abductions.

A group of people who had approached the two businessman running there business opposite the Maradana police station had forcibly taken them away said their relations.

The wife of one of the businessman, Kadir Bakeer Naufer said that on Friday evening she received a telephone call from a shopkeeper saying that her husband was arrested in connection with a police investigation.

“I have four children and I could not make a decision at that time, but I went to the Police station on Saturday morning and made a complaint” said Mrs Naufer.

She added that when she contacted her husband on his mobile phone he responded saying that he is being held captive. How ever he did not have an idea of the whereabouts of location. The conversation abruptly ended as the connection failed.

Minister Rambukwella said that he was at the meeting convened by the President to discuss abductions and said it’s clear that government security forcers are not involved in such things.

“How ever it's the responsibility of the government to prevent abductions and we are doing every thing possible” said Minister Rambukwella.
