Indian Fishermen accuse LTTE

The fishermen who were released from LTTE captivity told journalist in Chenai,Tamilndu that they were ill treated by their captors.

Addressing a press conference at the Police chief’s office fisherman Clement said that they were forcibly taken off their boats in the mid seas and held at a jungle hide out of the rebels.

“The situation was very bad and the surroundings were very dirty. Eleven of us had to sleep on five mats” said Clement.

The fisherman were held for 32days and later released on the coast of Ramesweram.

Clement said that the LTTE told them that as they were Tamils they had to support the Tamil cause.

“We asked for our boats but the Tigers didn't respond to our request “said Clement.

Journalist questioned Clement as how he identified his captors as Tamil Tigers.

Clement said the captors always spoke Tamil and listened to Tamil Elam radio.

He also added that on the walls the LTTE leader Prabakaran’s pictures were visible.
