Tamil parties propose 'Indian model'
PLOTE office in Batticaloa
PLOTE leader says Indian-style devolution is the best solution for Sri Lanka
A group of Tamil political parties in Sri Lanka have jointly proposed a political solution to Sri Lanka's national question.

The three political parties which do not recognise Tamil Tigers as main representatives of Sri Lanka's Tamil people say the solution should be based upon Indian-style devolution.

Leader of PLOTE S Siddharthan told BBC Tamil Service that many Tamils would accept the Indian-style federal system as the solution to Sri Lanka's long lasting civil war.

TULF, PLOTE and EPRLF (Padmanabha faction) are to submit their proposals to All Party Committee (APC) on finding a political solution.
