Lanka military claims successes
Sri Lanka soldiers
Tigers say they did not operate in the area recently
The Sri Lankan military says it's carrying out searches in the north-east and is consolidating its hold after driving Tamil Tiger rebels from several positions since Thursday.

The military said the army had taken a further Tiger facility and had now captured two Tiger camps, a training facility and a rebel-run hospital, all north of the port of Trincomalee.

It said troops inflicted heavy losses on the Tigers.

A Tamil Tiger spokesman dismissed the military's statement as mostly propaganda, and said the Tigers had not been operating in that area recently.
