The US Justice Department says a retired Indonesian general has pleaded guilty to international arms smuggling and money laundering. The retired Indonesian naval general, Erick Wotulo, pleaded guilty to conspiring to acquire and supply illegal arms to the Tamil Tiger rebels in Sri Lanka. He is due to be sentenced in May. The Justice Department statement, issued in Baltimore, did not say where the hearing had taken place. Mr Wotulu was arrested in September 2006 with five others on the US territory of Guam, after negotiating with undercover customs officers. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
