Four Tamil National Alliance MPs are among those who have shown interest in joining the government, senior minister claims. Defence affairs spokesman, minister Keheliya Rambukwella said discussions are on between the government and some 18 members of the UNP who are willing to join the government. "These UNP parliamentarians have shown interest to assist the president", he said. Even Sri Lanka Muslim Congress(SLMC) has openly said they would join the ruling party. "These are the information I have and results of these discussions could be seen within the next few weeks", Minister Rmbukwella told BBC. Memorandum of Undertanding signed between the government and the UNP is not barrier for these parties to assist the government, Minister Rambukwella said. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
