"four killed" in Sri Lanka strikes
Tamil Tiger rebels in Sri Lanka say government warplanes have bombed the rebel stronghold of Kilinochichi killing at least four people.

A rebel spokesman Daya Master said at least four bombs fell behind a hospital located near the rebel headquarters.

Military spokesman Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe confirmed that the amy had targeted a rebel training camp in Kilinochichi but had no details on the damage caused.

Violence has continued in Sri Lanka since peace talks failed in Geneva last weekend.

The two sides could not agree over the over the reopening of the main highway connecting the Jaffna peninsula to the rest of the country.

The Tigers have set the reopening of the highway as a condition for more talks.

The government has refused, saying the rebels will only use it to move weapons and fighters.
