The main opposition has hit out saying that the government does not have a plan for peace or war. Speaking to the media in Colombo UNP parliamentarian Rajitha Senaratna said that the government is not in a position to make use of the offers made by the international community to mediate. “Although the European Union and others have assured the government to bring the LTTE to the negotiating table, the government has no political solution to offer” said senaratna Speaking on the possibility of war Senaratna said that the government is neither prepared for war. “If this country comes to a standstill with one hoax telephone call how can we fight a war?" Questioned Senaratna. Responding to a question on the refusal of the UNP to participate in all party talks convened by the president Senaratna said that with parties like the JHU and JVP around president Rajapaksha it is not possible to give any meaningful support. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
