President Mahinda Rajapakse in Kebethigollewa
President Mahinda Rajapakse visited the Kebethigollewa Hospital and met with the survivors of the claymore attack.

Sandesaya Colombo correspondent, Elmo Fernando reporting from Kebethigollewa said that President also met the mourners and relatives of the victims of the attack.

President Mahinda Rajapakse said that he believed that civilians, children and families are being murdered this way in order to flare up an ethnic conflict.

"We should not fall prey to that. We should ask people to remain calm and peaceful. We have faced similar situations in the past", the president said.

Steps would be taken to ensure national security and the safty of the people, President Rajapakse added.
