Stop Karuna dealings 'Orders President'
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has ordered government security forces to stop all dealings with the Karuna faction.

Palitha Kohona chief of the government peace secretariat (SCOPP) said that the president has ordered a halt to any dealings; by way of finance, or arms with the renegade faction of Tamil Tigers.

The government has ceased all dealings with the renegade rebels that began after the breakaway from the LTTE, said the chief of the peace secretariat.

When questioned Kohona admitted that there may be low level contacts with carders of the Karuna group.

“There has been a ceasefire and may be security personnel could have had personal contacts with other groups. They may have visited each other for things like to have a meal. That’s human nature” said Kohona

Kohona also denied media reports that government security personnel were assisinated while in Karuna camps
