A LTTE spokesperson speaking from Kilinoachi said that four locations close to Iranamadu have been bombed.

Political wing head of the LTTE in Trincomalee Eliilan , told the BBC that around noon shells were fired from the Trincomlee harbour area.

Multi Barrel Rocket Launchers were fired for the first time said the Elilan.

Earlier in the day the LTTE attacked Navy vessels in the mid seas.

The SLMM spokesperson Helan Olafdottir confirmed that two navy boats have been attacked by the LTTE.

A Dvora boat of the Sri lanka navy was attacked In Nagrakovil close to jaffna and another vessel caring troops from Kankesanthurai to Trincomalee was attacked by Sea Tigers fourty nautical miles from Point Pedro.

“The Dvoroa boat was sunk and the carrier vessal moved in to Indian waters and is now safe” said the SLMM spokesperson.

Navel spokesman comander D.K. P Dasanayaka said that at least 20 navey personal and about 30 LTTE carders have died in the sea clashes.

Meanwhile fighting at Monkey Bridge in Trincomalee and Kattaparichan have also been reported.

The SLMM has condemned the the attacks on navey vess a ls as a gross violation of the CFA agreement.

SLMM monitors were also on the Navy vessels and Helan Olafdottir said that the LTTE has informed that SLMM monitors should not be on Navey vessals.
