The international truce monitors in Sri Lanka have expressed concern on the latest incident of violence where two Tamil Tigers were killed. Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM), said the incident might jeopardise the trust between the parties raised after Geneva talks last month. Tamil Tigers said two of their fighters have been killed in an attack by the army (SLA) in the eastern Sri Lankan town of Batticaloa. The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) has denied the allegations published in a report in a pro-rebel website, TamilNet. It is the first incident of violence since the rebels and the government met in Geneva last month and agreed to abide by the 2002 ceasefire. SLMM spokesman Robert Milffom told BBC Sandeshaya that the incident might jeopardise the upcoming talks between the parties in April. No complaint is made on the incident to the truce monitors and it is yet to rule who is responsible, he added.
