Authorities do not take appropriate action against atrocities committed against journalists says President of the Sri Lanka Working Journlists Assiciation(SWJA), Sanath Balasuriya.

He said that television pictures showed a UNP MP Hemakumara Nanayakkra amongst a protest by farmers in Polonnaruwa where Upul Shantha was attacked.

"Although there is clear evidence no action has been taken against this incident as yet", he said.
